More than 8,000 people were hired in digital professions in Pays de la Loire in 2020. However, this is not enough to meet the needs of businesses in the region. “Digital technology is increasingly present in companies of all sizes with new professions that are appearing ”, affirms Safia D'Ziri, president of the ADN Ouest network, which brings together digital professionals in the Great West. Beyond specialized companies, all sectors are concerned and must ask themselves the question of their digital transition. Partner of the Digital Change event, Nantes Métropole supports three systems to support businesses in the region in their digital transition.
Plug In: for manufacturers
Plug In is an initiative of Nantes Métropole and Carène to promote collaboration between industrialists and digital companies in the territory of Nantes and Saint-Nazaire. For each edition, manufacturers are selected and must identify their digital development needs. Once this work has been completed, the European competitiveness cluster for manufacturing technologies (EMC2) launches a call for applications from companies and start-ups in the region to meet these expectations of manufacturers. Manufacturers choose their digital pair and benefit from support during working meetings on the project. Plug In is now in its 6th edition and at the same time continues to offer the community of award-winning industrialists and digital companies a number of events in favor of the digitization of industries.

The largest network of digital professionals in the West, ADN Ouest organizes many sharing events in Pays de la Loire and Brittany for digital professionals. The association also pilots programs aiming to act for the development of the sector in the West in terms of innovation for start-ups, to support the transition of companies through its DNA for change program but also for inclusion. social. ADN Ouest is campaigning for a more human and less gendered approach to digital professions. "Stereotypes about our jobs die hard: digital = geek = boy," recalls Safia D’Ziri, president of the association. A very real caricature since women represent only 19% of digital positions filled in the region, while the opportunities are numerous. If the largest companies can train internally, for others, ADN Ouest offers with its Invest In program Digital People to connect local digital companies and people wishing to retrain. The association is also preparing the next generation by going to middle and high schools to carry out awareness-raising actions in digital professions, in particular for young girls. All companies are welcome to get involved in these actions!
